Hero of the Week

It's been a while since I've named a hero...but I have good cause to name one as this certain someone truly went above and beyond.

Let me share the story...

My friend, Kendra's brother got married earlier this summer in Michigan. As is custom, their family held a reception back here in Illinois for those who weren't at the wedding. The reception was Sunday, and on Saturday evening around 10:00 pm, Kendra and I found ourselves in Meijer's garden department trying to come up with ideas for table decorations. Apparently, it's neither of our strength...we were desperate and tired. A very dangerous combination. We both could see how terrible these decorations were going to be as we were resorting to putting pots of mums on the table with some candles. That's when I made the desperate call to my sister (and this week's hero), Heidi.

That next morning, Kendra, Heidi and I made a trip to Sam's Price Club where Heidi started her magic. She bought four ugly bouques of flowers and coffee beans 'cause Kendra's brother works in a coffee shop, and Heidi thought it would be fun to pull in that part of Ryan's life. She got busy at work creating 13 beautiful bouques and the result?! Well, you be the judge...

I think it looked amazing...and Kendra and I were saved. So here's to you, Heidi. Thanks for being willing to help, sacrificing your day to decorate, and always being there when I find myself in a pinch. Love you. Hail the conquering hero!!!
