Dr. Seuss Baby Shower

"Kendra, how about you do food and I'll do decorations?"  That was it.  The extent of our planning.

Decorations, hu?  This could be fun.  With that, I started thinking up a 1940's Janie and Jack themed party.  As I was buying my bamboo plates and forks, suddenly I thought, "This isn't Lindsay.  This is me."  You see, Lindsay married Marcus...his stage name is Truserva.  That's right, he has a stage name...that's because he's a Hip Hop artist.  So needless to say, my friend Lindsay has got spice, and I knew the muted party just wasn't her.

How do you join sass and baby and not end up with a disturbing Tim Burton film?  That's when I thought of Dr. Seuss.  So, after buying a few books, candy, finding some quotes...my sister, Rebekah, and I crafted away one night and came up with the following...

I'm not sure if my motivation in sharing these is to inspire fun party ideas or to make all the cutting and glueing worth it. :) Either way...

And of course, we had to dress up as Thing 1 and Thing 2.  This is the beauty of my friendship with Kenz, who tends to be more thought-out than me...we both compromised here.  She compromised by wearing the shirt...and I compromised by putting away the blue wigs I really thought we should wear. :)
