Abby and Daniel - Engagement Session

It was obvious they started out as friends.  Their love for each other was apparent, but what really stood out to me with Abby and Daniel was how much they not only loved, but truly liked the other one.  There was a comfort level there where I could see them 50 years down the road still laughing and looking at each other as they were that Saturday afternoon...because they were friends first who fell in love...

As we walked around the campus of their alma mater, Bradley University, and Abby maneuvered the sidewalks in her heels like a pro, they told stories, we laughed a lot, and I knew immediately that I really liked them! Sometimes, when I'm on the way to meeting a client for the first time, I have the thought of, "I hope I like them!" as these meetings can feel somewhat like a blind date...but instead, as I drove away after the shoot with Daniel and Abby, I'll admit it, I felt a bit like the new kid in school who'd just made a friend and I had the thought, "I hope they liked me!"

Daniel did something that I LOVE...he e-mailed me about a week before the shoot with ideas of how they wanted to personalize their shoot to them.  He and Abby had spent hours at their local Starbucks right off campus and it's become a special place for them...I loved that! It was really sweet too because when the Starbucks barista heard we were doing an engagement shoot, she wrote them a "Congrats!" on their cups! So, a big shout out to the Starbucks near Bradley University!!

Apparently, Daniel loves technology...um, can I hear an Amen?!...he loves to be on the cutting edge of what's new and exciting!  Abby,  on the other hand, loves to do things old school...where Daniel would prefer to read a book on his ipad, she prefers to turn pages and hold a book in hand! I'm actually with Abby on this when it comes to reading a book. :)

Abby, I wasn't lying when I said the sun light loved you! And Daniel, you're looking pretty fine yourself!

Abby...you're awesome!

Ooohhh, your bright eyes! Love it!

Daniel and Abby, I'm excited for September!! It's going to be so fun getting to watch you two on your wedding day!! Thanks for letting me be a part of your shoot! - TP

I love all of these photos!!! I think my favorite is the one where Abby is covering Dan's eyes. Makes me smile.

Tami, your words are extremely sweet, too! You've definitely captured who Dan and Abby are!

Each of these photos is excellent. They capture Abby and Dan's personalities, especially the iPad and book photo. My favorites, though are probably the ones taken at the brick archway. No, wait, I think my favorite is...

Very nice job, Tami.

I agree with Nancy's comment about the brick archway. It's pretty classic, but there's something touching about the black and white one toward the bottom. These are awesome pictures.

Love the use of light in these photos! They're so vibrant and full of life, like the couple they're illustrating.

So happy that you two found the perfect photographer to capture not just the events of your special day, but the feeling as well. To be able to capture that on film is a gift.

It's truly amazing how Tami was able to capture Abby and Dan's essence on film. The love and fun really shines through in these photos. My favorites are the one of Abby looking over Dan's shoulder. Congrats to you. Trish B.

These are such beautiful photos! Abby, you are simply stunning in that blue dress! I can hardly believe that we are old enough to be married. It seems like just yesterday that we were making up funny words in your old house and practicing our cheers. We are so excited for the two of you and pray for the best of God's blessings! Much love, Sarah & Daniel

These pictures brought tears to my eyes. They are lovely photos of two very photogenic people. It still seems hard to believe that you are old enough to be getting married -- where has the time gone?

Tami, you did a great job of capturing this precious time in Dan and Abby's lives. We will all cherish these for a lifetime. We pray for God's best and many wonderful years together. Much love to both of you!
