Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives

I may as well dye my hair spikey blonde and wear my sunglasses on the back of my head because I fancy myself to be "Girl" Fieri!
I had an idea of...Why not try out a new restaurant with a friend each month? How fun would that be?! I don't have a good name for this feature, so if you've got any ideas, throw them my way!

So, for July, I asked my dear friend, Annie, if she'd want to check out Merry Ann's Diner with me.  It's an adorable 1950's feel diner on campus in Normal, IL...

Our Take: Their service was great! Super sweet waitress and our food came out really quickly!  I ordered the BLT...very pretty.  I have to be honest, it wasn't the best BLT I've had because it was a little dry and my bread could have been a little more toasty, but the fries were yum!
Annie ordered their hamburger and in her words, "It was de-LICIOUS!! I'd give it 5 stars!!"
As part of the feature, I decided to ask my dinner guest the same questions (a little tweaked) that James Lipton always asks his guests on Inside the Actor's Studio.  Annie isn't a big fan of questions like this, but I forced her to humor me in it (thanks, friend!)...
  1. What is your favorite word? Guru
  2. What is your least favorite word? LOL
  3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Traveling
  4. What turns you off? Arrogance
  5. What sound do you love? Squawking Seagulls
  6. What sound do you hate? Sounds of a ladybug crunching and the smell it makes
  7. What is your favorite exclamatory word? Crap
  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Book editor
  9. What profession would you not like to do? Any kind of job with public speak involved
  10. What's one thing that you know for sure?  I know I'm done answering these questions! :)

So overall...thumbs up to Merry Ann's Diner...Annie and I would definitely recommend it for a good time! Cheers to the Weekend!!

Such a fun post Tami! I want to be one of your friends to try out a restaurant with. Not neccesarily because I want to be interviewed, but because I love food:) I have been intrigued by this cute little diner, so thanks for your opinion and great pictures. Wouldnt it be great to be paid to be a foodie and try out different establishments! Sunita

what in the world...who are you? so fun!!!! I love these kinds of posts! They just make me smile and love you even more than I already do :) You have such a fun photography style to you. I also think the pictures of Annie are darling! I wish it would be appropriate for people to blow up pictures of themselves and frame them for their homes b/c that one of her is totally "frame worthy" :)

I've eaten with your "friend" a number of times and now I know to next time throw a ladybug in her hamburger. I don't know how but you take beautiful pictures of food! Very good!
