Give us this day...

I remember the first time I bought groceries on my own...with my own paycheck.  It was somewhat of a scary and proud moment wrapped into one swipe of my debit card.  I was in college at the time and I remember several different months thinking, "My rent it due this week and I can't afford rent and food so I guess I'll just boil potatoes and eat them until I can afford groceries".  I still look back and wonder how I made that little paycheck from Talbots spread across all my bills through that time...but I learned one thing...never take buying my groceries for granted.  Never.

Yesterday, I got home from church and was wanting that "after church snack" only to open the door and find this staring back at me...

Apparently, both my roommate and I need to make a trip to the store! :)  As I swiped my debit card at Meijers, I was almost in tears because today makes 8 months to the date that I walked out of my job and took a crazy chance on photography.  My sister and I had the honor of shooting a beautiful wedding on Saturday, and as I stood there bagging my grapes, I couldn't help but whisper a "Thanks be to God".
I know, most people are able to buy their groceries without it having to be such a dramatic experience! :) But I just wanted to say thanks to Jesus as I never take buying food for granted and thanks to each of you for supporting me along this road.  I can't tell you how much each comment you leave and each entry into a silly contest of mine means to me. Every single time someone says, "Hey, I read your blog" or "I look at your pictures" it gives me a boost of energy...so thank you for that. It's like buying my groceries...I don't take a single one for granted.  Much...MUCH love.

aaww, so fantastic that you look to God in all these "basic" provisions we are given. I have been looking at food so differently these past few weeks too...thinking, what a privilege it is to have so many options at meal times...there are so many with no options.
I got a little teary eyed reading your post too...I admire you for taking such a jump of faith. You are pleasing to God and we are blessed by your photography!
