Tasty Tales with Tami, Leslie, and Chalise {September}

As one last horrah before Leslie moves to Africa for a year, Leslie, Chalise, and I went to the Puran Indian Restaurant in Bloomington, IL.  Of course, I found this the perfect opportunity for a Tasty Tales post!

I hadn't eaten real Indian food since I was in India about 4 years ago and had been craving it, so I was really excited to check out this place! The atmosphere felt just a bit lacking but the music instantly took me back in my mind.

The menu has MANY dishes...I felt a bit overwhelmed since I didn't know what 99% of it was, so I just asked my server what he recommended.  With that, Chalise and I both got the Chicken Tikka Masal.  One thing they have that's a great idea is each customer gets to choose how spicy they want their meal! Chalise got Medium heat and I got Mild.

Plain and Garlic Naan...

Leslie got Spinach and Mushroom something (he took the menu away before I could write it down!)...

Trust me, her meal was A LOT better than it looks!!!
Was it authentic Indian food?  I think the answer is "yes" but I really couldn't say since I don't know Indian food that well, so I'll wait to hear what Jeff and Janet would say, but either way, it was really good!  My meal came to a total of $14.63, so about average cost for a dinner meal.  Overall, we thought it was absolutely delicious and I will most definitely be visiting Puran Indian Restaurant again!!!  Great experience!!!

I took my kids there for the first time this summer! We liked it but it definitely had different flavors. We got the potato naan and several other dishes that we liked. I would go back for sure! Thanks for sharing!

I loved reading the Q&A part. Makes feel like I know both Leslie and Chalise quite well. I could hear both of them answering the question, and wasn't surprised by any of their answers. Tami, I can't wait to hang out with you on Saturday!!!
