Mr. DMV

It's a big commitment! I mean...really. I'm stuck with this for a long time.  One fraction of a second will stay with me on a somewhat daily basis for the next many years...yeah, driver's license pictures...I don't like them.

It was a Saturday morning...one of those, I crawled out of bed, no makeup on, kind of mornings.  The right side of my hair was hanging limp while the left side decided to throw a party.  It wasn't 'til I was parked at the DMV that I remembered a new picture gets taken when renewing a license.  Oh yay. I forgot. Thankfully, I found some drugstore blush in my purse.

As I sat down for my picture, I was waiting for the "Look here and smile!" moment...but the guy was talking and then said, "Alright, I'll call your name when it's done"...what? That was easy!  That's when I was thankful that he worked at the DMV and not as a Wedding Photographer, 'cause he's good!  I didn't even know my picture was being taken...on second thought, maybe I should have him come work for me!

So, maybe in 10 years when it comes to renewing my license, I won't put it off as the process was shockingly easy!  Thanks, Mr. DMV...you're doing your part in giving it a good name!
Happy Weekend!!!

We should just learn to take any official picture like daddy does...look at the camera like its ur mug shot and then we never have to worry how they will turn out...all equally scarry! Haha.

I can't believe you were allowed to smile. I wasn't allowed to in mine. It's just plain awful. Glad you had a better experience than me!

Bek, I agree with you! But then Tam wouldn't have had such a cute picture on her license either...Tam, you look BEAUTIFUL!!

Really, I can't imagine looking so cute in a driver's license picture! It seems they usually manage to make you look your worst.

Cute picture and story, Tam!

that's a great pic, tami!

we can't show our teeth anymore in our lovely state. i haven't had one taken since, but by october i'm sure to have a less than lovely picture. :) (not that the one i have now is desirable.)

yeah, you have it nice tami!! You should see my picture. It really does look like a mug shot because even though I knew I was getting my picture taken, did my hair, put on makeup and thought it could turn out ok...it was terrible. Not only can you NOT smile in our pictures, but you can NOT have your hair(bangs) touching your eyebrows...and that day I wore my hair down and oh for heaven sake.....I look like I just committed a crime!!! Its aweful!! So to see your beautiful smiling face....your picture looks great!!

These stories are hilarious!!! I've got my wheels turning on a contest of people submitting their driver's license pictures and we vote on them!!! Hahah!!! Although, I have a feeling no one would submit theirs!! Thanks for the compliment on the picture...trust me, the one I had before was MUCH worse!!!

I loved my Illinois DMV pic too. It made me look 15 pounds lighter, and a bit glam. Was always happy when someone asked for ID. Now, the ones from Manitoba make me look like a convict.

You look so cute! No fair:). I also forgot and went after work one afternoon. Since I wear a surgical cap all day, it looked like a party on both sides of my hair. Yikes. Maybe I will have a redeeming pic in another ten years! Have a great weekend.

This post (and these comments) made me laugh! I also did not realize they take a new pic and went with no shower or brushing my hair. And it actually wasn't too bad!! Then the next time I had to get it renewed I actually did my hair and makeup and it looks terrible. GO FIGURE.
