Challenge Accepted!

If you know me at all, you may be super shocked with what I'm about to tell you...or not. That just sounded exciting to write. ;)

Tim King is a photographer out in California, and he challenged people to a 30 day (well, it's going to be 25 days for me 'cause I'm joining late) Vlog (video blog) challenge.  I was hesitant to start this knowing how my 30 day photography challenge ended up taking several months.  However, I knew having a group doing it with me would be the motivation I would need to keep it up, so I'm giving it a go.

So, why vlog?  Honestly, it's more for myself getting used to being in front of a camera...among other reasons.  I've heard that it's good for photographers to get in front of the camera, to understand how clients feel, and although this is a little different as I'm taping myself, it's a start.

I also decided to do it because I simply just didn't want to.  You saw my blooper reel...I'm definitely not comfortable in front of a camera, and just know that people don't really need to see that hot mess.  However, vlogging is a new trend in the blog world, and I can't seem to turn down challenges, so I'm going for it.

I REALLY hate having my picture taken and being video taped...actually, that's a big reason why I started to video when I was young, 'cause that way I knew I would be behind the lens instead of in front...so this is going to be a major lesson in swallowing my pride, but feel like this will be good for me.

You may wonder why I'm talking to you (in the following video) like I don't know you, and that's because this video is being posted on a blog that Tim created as well...so that's that.

So with that said, here's Day 1.  Yes, I'm cringing as I post this...I literally have a stomach ache!  Yes, I think I'm nuts for trying this. Yes, apparently I flare my nostrils when I talk..and NO, you do NOT need to watch it! :)

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been
The foresight to know where you are going
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.
