My sister agreed (very last minute!) to demonstrate how to make a Japanese Onigiri...which is a very common lunch/snack eaten over there!
I also think she'd appreciate me adding that she's pregnant....I think she looks adorable, but thought I would add that in for her sake. :)

So fun! I want to make it! Thanks Tam and Bek!
Okay, so I'm seriously interested in making these... I was wondering if it is possible to substitute brown rice, or does that just take it down a notch?!?! Do the Japanese ever eat brown rice?
Hey Kasey,
Tami asked me to answer your question. Most Japanese don't like brown rice so it's not commonly eaten. But my Dad has started eating it for health reasons. He has found a brown rice that has the consistency similar to the short grain white rice.
I think it would take it down a notch but as long as it was sticky enough to stick together in a ball and not just fall to pieces, it should work just fine!
