Peoria Horse Stable Legacy Session

We're not 'technically' related...but we may as well be.  She always did feel like family...so when Marissa asked me if I'd photograph her kids, I said yes.  We met out at a beautiful horse farm, and for about 45 min. I followed her beautiful kids around and got to capture some really fun moments...

I have to be honest...whenever I look at this picture, I feel like it should be a cover to an album.

Ugh, pretty sure her daddy is going to have to keep an eye out for the boys when this little beauty grows up!!

Legacy: Lifestyle Shoot {Preview}

Summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”

Taking time for two

He's the center of their world...their little man.  It was obvious to me as I shot their Legacy Session, just how much they adored their little boy, and with little wonder...his big brown eyes melted me instantly.

As we prodded, played, and followed around their precious boy, I kept looking at Daman + Reema, and thinking, "I wonder if they know what a beautiful couple they are".  The wedding photographer in me was secretly hoping she'd ask if I could get a couple shots of she and her husband.

...you see, I love it when I'm photographing a family, and the couple, this team who is battleling out parenthood together, takes time for two.  Often in shoots, as in life, the focus is all on the beauty that are the children...but when a couple takes a moment to ask if I could "get just a couple shots of us"...nothing thrills me more.  It's always my goal in the next 5 min. to capture something, a feeling...a reminder...that he may be the father of her baby, and she, the mother of his son, but she's still the bride he promised to adore, and he the man she fell in love with.

Thanks, Daman + Reema, for asking me to take time out for the two of you.

Legacy: 'R' Family

When Renee asked me to do a family session...I knew they would be the perfect family for me to practice with in preparing for the Legacy Sessions in 2013.  Renee isn't only a friend of mine but a very talented cook as she runs and owns an amazing catering business: http://www.tastebyrenee.blogspot.com/

She chose the location which is something I loved...and it was like taking pictures in a peaches 'n' cream with the amazing light!!

Just look at these kiddos!...what dolls.

Look at this little stud...seriously, every time I looked at him, it was a photo op!
Such cute buddies...
This little beauty has such a sweet personality which shines through...
I was loving her eyes...seriously? Such a little sweetie.
This little honey was full of spunk and kind of a girl after my own heart...
The girls...
This may be one of my favorites from the day...
And of course, I wanted to get a few of Shane and Renee...
Renee...seriously, you kill me.
Is it weird that I almost want to hang this picture on my wall?

I just LOVE this sweet family and am so honored and thankful that they let me practice with their family.  Thanks!! - TP

The Manual Workshop: February 23, 2013

I can't count the times someone has said to me,
"I wish I could hire you to teach me how to use my camera!"
You're saying, "I don't know how to use all the settings and functions"...but what I'm hearing is,
"I want someone to teach me as simply as they can, how to take a good picture!"
...well friends, I heard you!!

On February 23, 2013, I will be hosting my first workshop!!
I'm announcing this now because this could be a great Christmas gift idea to give someone...
or while you're asking for a new camera, you ask for this workshop as well!
Just a thought. :)
...I've had a lot of wives say they want to send their husbands, so don't think this is for women only!

Who is this workshop for?

My Guy

I try...I promise.

I reeeeally try not to be that annoying aunt who has to tell stories about her nieces and nephews, quote their not-so-funny sayings, or...make you stare at tons of pictures.  But let's face it...sometimes I fail miserably.  So I'd like to introduce you to my guy...my number 7.  He is an absolute honey...

He's so cute...with his hairy little shoulders!  Apparently it all falls off, but he wears is well. :)

Yes, I'm completely smitten.
